Department Hours of Operation
Monday, Wednesday, Thursday: 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM
Tuesday: 8:30 AM to 7:00 PM
Friday: 8:30 AM to 1:00 PM
While the office is generally attended during these hours, inspectors are frequently in the field conducting inspections. People needing to talk with a particular inspector would be wise to call the Building Department to confirm that the person they need to see is in the office.
Voice mail is checked continually throughout the day. Calls are returned as promptly as possible.
Department Description:
The Cohasset Building Commissioner is appointed by the Town Manager under the Massachusetts State Building Code 780CMR. The Building Department is responsible for the administration of the: Massachusetts State Building Code; Electrical, Plumbing and Architectural Access Codes; the Cohasset Zoning Bylaw and some General Bylaws of the Town.
