Committee on Town History - Frequently Asked Questions

Question:  Is the Committee on Town History the same as the Cohasset Historical Society?

Answer:  The Society’s purpose is to preserve the history of Cohasset through acquisitions, exhibitions, research, events and programs on local and regional history. The Committee on Town History manages the Town’s historical Narrative publications and anthologies, returning all proceeds to the Town’s Town History account. This account provides the funding to underwrite the production of publications as the need occurs and as historical material is discovered suitable for publication.

Question:  Where can these history books be purchased?

Answer:  Buttonwood Books, the Town Clerk’s Office and the Cohasset Historical Society at the Pratt building headquarters. In addition, at the Village Fair in December and the Art Show in June, the Committee sells books.
